A Winter's Tale
It's winterfall
Read skies are gleaming
Seagulls are flying over
Swans are floating by
Smoking chimney tops
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
Read skies are gleaming
Seagulls are flying over
Swans are floating by
Smoking chimney tops
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
The nights draw in
There's a silky moon up in the sky
Children are fantasising
Grown-ups are standing by
What a super feeling
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
There's a silky moon up in the sky
Children are fantasising
Grown-ups are standing by
What a super feeling
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
So quiet and peaceful
Tranquil and blissful
There's a kind of magic in the air
What a truly magnificent view
A breathtaking scene
With the dreams of the world
In the palm of your hand
Tranquil and blissful
There's a kind of magic in the air
What a truly magnificent view
A breathtaking scene
With the dreams of the world
In the palm of your hand
A cosy fireside chat
A little this, a little that
Sound of merry laughter skipping by
Gentle rain beating on my face
What an extraordinary place!
A little this, a little that
Sound of merry laughter skipping by
Gentle rain beating on my face
What an extraordinary place!
It's all so beautiful
Like a landscape painting in the sky
Mountains are zooming higher
Little dogs scream and cry
My world is spinning and spinning and spinning
It's unbelievable
Sends me reeling
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
Like a landscape painting in the sky
Mountains are zooming higher
Little dogs scream and cry
My world is spinning and spinning and spinning
It's unbelievable
Sends me reeling
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
Oooh, it's bliss

Your task this week is to write a poem about what winter means to you. You can use the poem above, the pictures below and your own ideas to inspire you. Think about what you can see, hear, smell, taste and touch in winter.
I'm looking forward to reading your poems!

ReplyDeleteIn the polish Winter Wonderland
ReplyDeleteIt is cold, white and beautiful winter
Tinny snowflakes falling from the blue sky
Trees as tall as the Shard all covered in a snowy duvet
I’m walking down the slippery road
I can hear jingling bells, barking dogs and people singing Christmas carols
What is this?
What can I see in the distance?
It is a sleigh party
Hills full of snow
People wearing worm coats, hats and gloves
Standing by a campfire and happily laughing
Everyone holding a cup of hot tea with raspberry juice ,honey and lemon
Children building a snowman and throwing snowballs on to each other
It looks so good
May I join them?
Yes, they are waving at me
Oh, it’s bliss
It is so magical
Just like a Winter Wonderland
Like a polish Winter Wonderland
Oh, I miss this so much
Winter is winter.
ReplyDeleteWinter is dark evening.
Winter is cold, chilly and wrapping up warm.
Winter is waiting for snow.
Winter is building snowmen.
Winter is playing games.
Winter is waiting for my birthday.
Winter is taking part in a school play
winter is visiting santa.
Winter is Christmas trees, lights and decorations.
Winter is thinking about when Jesus was born.

When Winter Comes
ReplyDeleteThe nights are so long and so short is the day,
I hardly get anytime to go out and play.

Inside of my mittens so warm and so tigh!

The town will soon be frosty cold,
And all the Christmas tree be sold.
Tree are big, and tree are small
But Christmas tree are best of all.

Winter is freezing.
In winter It's snow.
In winter I like to be cosy.
In winter days are short.
In winter nights are long.
In winter I get two weeks off.
In winter I feel lucky.
Winter Wonderland
ReplyDeleteSnowing heavily outside
Everybody staying inside
Nobody’s going to the seaside
Snowy mountains up above
Frozen lakes and frozen trees
Animals sleep throughout winter
I’m confused!!!
I’m confused!!!
Oh! I wish I could sit by the fire
And sip hot chocolate to my heart’s desire
Eating marshmallows that I admire
I can’t wait for spring now
So winter say a good bye now!!

Winter wonderland
ReplyDeleteWinter a cold time of the year.
In this season we make snowmen over here
Never bored to eat drink marshmallows and tea
Time to go outside to play with me
Even more fun with snow
Running very slow
A Winter tale:
ReplyDeleteIt's freezing
Snow is falling
Birds are leaving
Hot chimneys are burning
All grass is wet
People are making gloves
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
Children are playing
Everyone is opening presents
Trees are dying
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
So quiet and peaceful
No sun shine rising
People making snowmen
Babies are going to be born
It feels so calm
People next to the fire
AM I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
Kids are have hot chocolate

ReplyDeleteYeah it's winter,
Days are short and nights are long,
Trees are covered with white snow,
Roofs are covered with layers of snow
Smoke flames come out of chimneys,
Noisy and screaming children
Walk in deep snow,
Frosty snowmans are built,
Sledging is joyful,
Magical snowflakes are flowing.
But meanwhile is shivering cold,
Brrrrr
Goodbye magnificent views,
It's time to go inside and have chocolate, marshmellows and hot coco.
Cosy blanket is ready,
It's time to go to sleep and say good night snow!

Winter
ReplyDeleteWinter comes winter goes,
Thin snow flacks come down,
The roads get blocked,
the schools close,
families gather together,
As snow comes down the degrees drop,
they radietors come on,
big santa comes to clean the chimney,
give me presents to have fun.

ReplyDeleteIn Winter, I get excited to celebrate Christmas,
And make my snowman enormous,
Although I feel cold,
I come out to see what toys people have sold,
Winter makes me gasp in amazement,
When Santa gives a great entertainment,
I like Winter because when the frosty days arrive, I have a feeling that it might snow,
We would like to get presents but parents say no

I am a winter baby born in the cold
ReplyDeleteWhite fluffy and beautiful,
That is the snow.
Winter's dark winter's cold
my nose is runny
my toes wrinkle in the snow.
I wish I went on holiday to a log
cabin in the snow eating hot chocolate
and marshmallows whilst being cold.
Nidhi,
ReplyDeleteI like snow , the winter is cold
My nose is freezing and hands are numb!
It's fun to walk on sparkling snow, and hear my boots go crunch ,crunch crunch.
House tops are covered with snowflakes.
The snow-festooned mountains peaks were embalmed with tiaras of powdering snow.
All are wet and tired, it's time to have hot chocolate and warming up ourselves by fire.
Moon and star pave in the sky in pale pearl and diamond showering silver light on ground.
snowflakes are frosty crystal flowers with petal but no stems.

Winter by Jayden
ReplyDeleteWinter is here and time for all my favourite things.
Snowball fights with my family,
Snow angels in the garden,
A big cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows,
And Christmas.
The sound of laughter all around me,
The smell of Christmas dinner wafts from the kitchen.
I love Christmas but not the soggy gloves or my runny nose, but I love the hot bath after a snowball fight and cosying up under my furry blanket on the couch watching a Christmas movie.
Winter mornings are full of frost,
ReplyDeleteThe snow covers the ground, things get lost.
Rotting leaves and slippery floors
Just be careful don't fall and get sore!!!
Animals are hibernating from the cold.
Snow glistening on their fur like silver and gold.
People keeping warm wearing hats, gloves and scarves,
Playing in the snow having lots of laughs.
Winter is the time of year,
When Christmas falls and people cheer!!!!
People wearing festive jumpers and hats,
Snuggled cosily with their gentle pets.
Christmas trees are in the corner,
Presents are underneath.
Milk and cookies are on a plate,
Ready for Santa to eat.

ReplyDeleteChristmas poem
Frost-bitten trees falling down onto the snow
cold snow falling on you
Chilled snow dropping onto the melted snow
chilly glass on your fingertips.
Oh it’s winter now
ReplyDeleteSnow dancing
Birds hiding
Squirrels eating
Fire warming up
Oh it’s winter now
So cold and fun
Woolly hats worn
Joyful people run
Oh it’s winter now
Snow fights commence
Snowmen built in peace
Water turning to ice
My mum cooking hot rice
But I wish I had a warm pizza slice
Oh it’s winter now.

Pine trees whispering
Blanket of snow filters
Glowing the street sparkle white
It’s fun to walk in sparkling snow
Downy flakes falling fast
The birds are gone
The world is white
Nothing like snow
