This week we have been learning the story 'Staying Out'by Pie Corbett. Your task for this week is to write out as much of the story as you can remember. Use the story map to help you and if you cannot remember the exact words then replace them with words that still make sense.

As a new way of getting everyone to start checking their own work. Everyone should write a star and a wish on someone else's work to show what is great about the piece of work and what can be improved.

Star: You have used amazing adjectives that I am going to use in my own work.

As part of our Geography unit, we are going to be finding out whereabouts in the world different products are grown and produced. When you eat a banana or a piece of chocolate, have you ever wondered where it was grown and what kind of journey it has been on in order to get to our homes?

Part One:


Your task is to find out in which countries (and their continent) could the following products have been grown:


-coffee
-tea
-bananas
-sugar
-cotton
-chocolate (cocoa beans)


Part Two:

This week we have been learning about persuasive language. We enjoyed debating some interesting topics in class! Have a look at the statements below:

WATCHING TELEVISION IS BAD FOR CHILDREN.

Which statement do you agree with? Please can you write a persuasive paragraph that will convince the reader to agree with you.

Maybe you could include:

-Persuasive sentence starters (Surely you agree that.......Everybody knows that.....)

-Rhetorical questions (How would you feel if......? Don't you think that......?)

- Conjunctions to add points to your argument (In addition, furthermore, also, another reason is....)
